Kalakriti Foundation, New Delhi, organized a three-day art camp from 6 to 8 July 2026 at its centre in Chitra Vihar, New Delhi. Kalakriti Foundation has been actively engaged in organizing art events and promoting art education for more than two decades. Its Director, Prashant K Sarkar, is an established artist who works across various mediums and is also a musician. The Foundation’s centre offers training in painting, sculpture, ceramics, and other art forms.
The art camp was coordinated by Prashant Kumar Sarkar and Kriti B. Sarkar. Participating artists included senior artist Ved Prakash Bhardwaj, along with Abhivyakti Mishra, Apoorva Verma, Deepali Mittal, Manasi Gupta, Rahee, and Advit Parashar. While some of these artists have been actively working in the field of art for several years, others are at the beginning of their artistic journey.
The inauguration of the camp was attended by Kamal Seth from Camlin, along with senior artists J. P. Singh, Ram Onkar, Jitendra Kumar, Priyanka Sinha, and several other guests. The primary objective of the camp was to bring senior and young artists onto a common platform and encourage dialogue on artistic experiences and creative processes.
Creating artworks within a fixed time frame is always a challenge for artists participating in an art camp. For some of the participants, this was their first experience of working in such a camp. Even so, they demonstrated remarkable dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment throughout the creative process. Artists of different generations working together created a unique and enriching atmosphere. Young artists had the opportunity to observe senior artists at work and engage in meaningful conversations with them, fostering an inspiring creative environment. At the same time, there is little doubt that the senior artists also drew inspiration from the enthusiasm, imagination, and innovative approach of the younger participants. Their willingness to experiment with subjects and mediums was both admirable and inspiring.
On the final day of the camp, an interactive session was conducted by Kamal Seth, Regional Promotional Manager, Camlin, for North and Central India. During the session, he shared scientific and technical insights into different types of colours, their quality, applications, and the use of various artistic mediums.
Photography and videography of the camp were carried out by young artist Ananta Sarkar, while Priti Mondal played a significant role in coordinating and managing the overall arrangements of the event.
